St Monica’s GAA Weekly Notes:

What a historic weekend for our small but very proud club as our girls U16 team won back to back championship titles. The girls were made battle for their honours by an excellent Man O War team with supporters from both sides treated to an outstanding sporting game of championship football, FT score St Monica’s 6-7 (25) Man O War 4-8 (20). Thanks to Fingallians GAA club and Derek McKittrick for hosting the U16 final on Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday morning the U11 girls from St Monica’s welcomed teams from St Sylvester’s and Beann Eadair to Edenmore for a blitz with the football on display by all sides of an extremely high standard. We would like to thank everyone who helped with the blitz especially the setting up of pitches.

Our boys U13 team had the game of the season versus Thomas Davis on Saturday defeating the league champions by seven points, well done to all the lads and their management team.

There was no winner of our club lotto draw with the jackpot of €1050 rolling over to next Sunday. Numbers drawn out 7-19-24 lucky dip winner of €25 was M Kiely c/o of Tom Clancy. Tickets are on sale throughout the week from the clubhouse.

Our club are bag packing in Dunne Stores Donaghmede this coming Thursday, Friday night and on Saturday. Volunteers are needed to assist with this major fund raiser for the club. If available to help out please contact Paul Dillon, Harry Cavanagh, Philip Kelly and Emma Lynch.

All in St Monica’s GAA club would like to offer our sincere condolences to Alan Egan on the passing of his Mother Patricia (RIP) and to Caroline Devitt on the recent passing of her Mother Geraldine (RIP) may they both rest in peace.
